Initial Drying Period (1-2 Weeks)

After your window tint has been installed, it takes 1 to 2 weeks for the film to fully cure. During this time you may notice a slight haze or small water bubbles between the film and the glass. This is completely normal and will disappear on its own as the moisture evaporates. Do not roll your windows down for at least 48 hours after installation to allow the adhesive to set.

What to Avoid During the Curing Process

Avoid cleaning the tinted windows for at least 7 days. Do not use ammonia-based cleaners at any time. Ammonia will break down the film and cause it to bubble or peel.

Small Particles or Contamination

You may see tiny specks between the film and glass immediately after installation. A small amount of contamination is normal and will not affect the performance or longevity of the film.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Use a microfibre cloth and a mild soap-and-water solution or an ammonia-free glass cleaner to keep the film looking crisp. Wipe gently. Avoid scrubbing pads and abrasive brushes on the inside of the glass where the film sits.

Protecting Your Tint for Long-Lasting Performance

Window tint film wears over time with sun exposure. A quality film will typically last 10 to 20 years when the vehicle is garaged, but the life span can be shorter on cars that see prolonged high-intensity sun. Park in shade where possible, and keep sharp objects (seatbelt buckles, pet claws, keys) away from the film edges to prevent lifting.

Warranty Information

Every R1 Auto window tint install carries a lifetime warranty against peeling, bubbling, cracking and colour change. Keep your invoice as proof of install if you ever need to make a claim.
